Day 01 : Arrive Delhi By: Intl Flight
You will arrive at Delhi Airport. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, our representative will meet you as you EXIT the ARRIVALS TERMINAL building after which you would be transferred to your hotel. India’s capital and a major gateway to the country, contemporary Delhi is a bustling metropolis, which successfully combines in its folds - the ancient with the modern. Amidst the fast spiraling skyscrapers the remnants of a bygone time in the form of its many monuments stand as silent reminders to the region’s ancient legacy. The first impressions for any visitor traveling in from the airport are of a specious, garden city, tree-lined with a number of beautiful parks. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi
Start the day with an early morning Yoga session (01 hour) at an outdoor location (Suggestion: Lodhi Garden or Nehru Park). After breakfast, proceed for a Heritage Walk Tour of Old Delhi Chandni Chowk with an expert. A city can be best explored on foot as it gives you an opportunity to absorb the city, surrounding & culture slowly as it comes. You will also experience the Cycle Rickshaw Ride. Combined sightseeing tour of Old Delhi including, drive past Red Fort and visit Jama Masjid, Asia’s largest mosque. Later you will be driven to New Delhi, which reflects the legacy the British left behind. The tour includes drive past the imposing India Gate, the Parliament House building and Rashtrapati Bhawan (the President’s residence). In the afternoon visit Qutab Minar, the tallest medieval stone tower in India. It was started in 1199 AD by Qutab-ud-Din Aibak and completed by the sultan's successor and son-in-law Iltutmish. The building is 72.5 mts high and has 379 steps from the bottom to the top. The Qutab Minar is still the highest stone tower as well as one of the finest Islamic structures ever raised in India. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03 : Delhi – Haridwar – Rishikesh By: Surface
Early morning, departure transfer to New Delhi Railway Station to board Train Shatabdi Express for Haridwar. Upon arrival in Haridwar meeting assistance at the Railway station and straightaway drive to Rishikesh, a leisurely 45 minutes drive. Upon arrival in Rishikesh, check in to the hotel. Rishikesh, the 'place of sages' is a celebrated spiritual town on the bank of Ganga and is surrounded by Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides. It is an ideal destination not only for pilgrims but also for those who want to delve deeper into meditation, yoga and other aspects of Hinduism. Rishikesh is also called the ‘Yoga capital of the world’. Today we have organized an evening Yoga session (01 hour) at the Yoga Hall of the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04 : Rishikesh By: Surface
The day starts with an early morning Yoga & Meditation session at the hotel’s Yoga Hall. During the day proceed for a sightseeing tour of Rishikesh. Visit Lakshmana Jhula, Swargashram and Triveni Ghat. In the afternoon there will be a discourse with a Sage / Guru. (Venue will be either the hotel or an ashram – can be confirmed closer to date only). At sunset participate in the famous ‘Ganga Aarti’ ceremony performed by young Hindu monks at Parmarth Ashram. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 05 : Rishikesh By: Surface
This day too starts with an early morning Yoga & Meditation session at the hotel’s Yoga Hall. After breakfast, go for Kunjapuri Trek and village visit (vehicle will pick you from the hotel & will drive to Kunjapuri - 30kms approx. You will be dropped at the Kunjapuri Temple for visit & then start the trek down to the village around 08kms where our vehicle will meet you to pick & drop at hotel.) Veg Lunch will be served. Later in the afternoon Drive to Haridwar to witness the “Aarti” ceremony at Har Ki Pauri- A revered place is the major landmark of the holy city of Haridwar. Literally, "Har" means "Lord Shiva" who is the God according to Shaivite Rishav Bhagwan school of Hindu theology, "Ki" means "of" and "Pauri" means "steps". Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu are believed to have visited the Brahmakund in Har Ki Pauri in the Vedic times. It is believed that it is precise spot where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains. The ghat is on the west bank of Ganges canal through which the Ganges is diverted just to the north. Har Ki Pauri is also the area where thousands of pilgrims converge and the festivities commence during the Kumbha Mela, which takes place every twelve years, and the Ardh Kumbh Mela, which takes place every six years. Later drive back to Rishikesh for an overnight stay. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 06 : Rishikesh – Dehradun By: Surface
This day too starts with an early morning Yoga & Meditation session at the hotel’s Yoga Hall. After breakfast, drive to Dehradun and check-in at the hotel. Dehradun, nestled amidst the Doon Valley and winter Capital of Uttarakhand, it proudly boasts of a scenic backdrop of the Garhwal Himalayas. Dehradun is located at an altitude of 1400 feet above sea level and has a pleasant climate all year round. Afternoon, sightseeing of Dehradun including visit of the Tibetan quarter, Stupa of the Tibetan monastery (8 km from the city center). Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 07 : Dehradun – Shimla By: Surface
Morning is at leisure. Later, we will drive you to Shimla – The capital of Himachal Pradesh State lies at an altitude of 2,213 metres above sea level. Before the British discovered it in 1819, Shimla was a small village that was part of the Nepalese Kingdom. In 1830, the local Raja was persuaded to part with the land by the British and the settlement became the subcontinent’s most fashionable Summer Resort. Shimla was declared the Summer Capital of India in 1864. This city is known for its pleasant summers as the maximum temperature rarely crosses 25°C during the day. The lovely sprawling town set among the pine-clad hills presents the visitor with glimpses of fading colonial charm. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Evening free for independent activities. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 08 : Shimla By: Surface
This day too starts with an early morning Yoga & Meditation session at the hotel’s Yoga Hall. After breakfast, do a Shimla Heritage Walk with our expert who is passionate about his town and also a wonderful story teller. The following walk takes one through the Heritage Zone of Shimla during which you visit some of the most prominent buildings of the town. They include churches, castles, temples, old Houses, buildings and lodges. Some of the major attractions around are Jakhu Hill, Glenn, Summer Hill, Chadwick Falls, Prospect Hill, Indian Institute of Advance Studies, Sankat Mochan, Taradevi Temple and Himachal State Museum. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 09 : Shimla By: Surface
The day starts with an early morning Yoga & Meditation session at the hotel’s Yoga Hall. Day is free for independent activities. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10 : Shimla – Kalka - Delhi By: Surface
After breakfast, transfer to the Shimla Railway Station to board the train for Kalka and connect further train for Delhi. On arrival at Delhi, you would be met & transferred to hotel for check-in. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11 : Depart Delhi By: Intl Flight
In time, our representative shall transfer you to the Delhi airport to board the flight for onward journey.
